As the COVID-19 resurgence continues, more than 100,000 new confirmed cases were reported nationwide on the 7th. The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, 105,507 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, bringing the total to 20,489,128. The number of new cases is 5,159 fewer than the previous day (110,666). The decrease in confirmed cases compared to the previous day appears to be due to a reduction in diagnostic testing over the weekend.

The number of confirmed cases has remained in the 100,000 range for six consecutive days since the 2nd. This is the first time in 17 weeks, since April 10 (164,453 cases), that the number of cases announced on a Sunday has exceeded 100,000. Compared to a week ago on the 31st of last month (73,559 cases), it is 1.43 times higher, and compared to two weeks ago on the 24th of last month (65,372 cases), it is 1.61 times higher.
