Starting on July 19 in Namhu-myeon and ending on August 5 in Yongsang-dong, the tour covered 24 eup, myeon, and dong over 9 days.
During this Eup, Myeon, Dong Residents’ Empathy Communication Day, the city humbly listened and empathized with the joys and sorrows of residents’ lives to realize a ‘Vibrant Growth City, Hopeful Andong Created Together.’
At the event, the city shared detailed information on administrative directions and current issues with local residents and awarded plaques of merit to retiring community leaders who dedicated themselves to Andong City.
Through this time of empathetic communication with residents, the city collected over 300 cases of resident inconveniences and suggestions over the 9 days.

Mayor Kwon empathized with the residents’ difficulties and immediately proposed solutions on-site for problems that could be resolved right away.
▲ Partial replacement of mural tiles in the train station underpass ▲ Replacement of damaged sidewalk blocks ▲ Drainage maintenance ▲ Garbage collection and clean house maintenance were among the issues addressed immediately through the relevant departments.
For issues requiring long-term plans, the city promptly visited the sites (Namhu Industrial Complex, waste sites, hemp special zone, Pungsan Market, etc.) on the same day to discuss follow-up measures swiftly.
Residents of eup, myeon, and dong urged the city to further strengthen local livelihoods by implementing ▲ a clean city suitable for a tourism hub city ▲ and increasing residents’ income linked to festivals.
The city plans to continuously manage the proposed issues and regularly inform all proposers of the progress to promote administrative reliability.
