4 Cargo Solidarity Union Members Arrest Warrants Issued for Obstructing Traffic at HiteJinro Gangwon Plant
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The police have requested arrest warrants for members of the Cargo Solidarity, a union under the Korean Public Transport Workers' Union affiliated with the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, who were caught in the act obstructing logistics vehicle traffic at the Hite Jinro Gangwon Plant in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon Province.
The Hongcheon Police Station in Gangwon announced on the 7th that it had applied for arrest warrants for four Cargo Solidarity members on charges of obstruction of business and obstruction of official duties. They are accused of occupying Hitegyo Bridge, the only access road leading to the Hite Jinro Gangwon Plant, thereby obstructing logistics vehicle traffic.
On the 5th, the police issued a dispersal order to 12 union members who blocked the movement of logistics vehicles on the bridge, but they refused and were arrested on the spot. Among them, eight were released on the same day after questioning. On the 4th, the police also arrested and questioned two union members for the same reason and released them on the same day.

Since the afternoon of the 2nd, the Cargo Solidarity has mobilized about 20 trucks to block the access road to the Hite Jinro Gangwon Plant and staged a sit-in protest.
