40s Man Who Fled After Killing Wife in Incheon Caught at Motel in Suwon
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A man in his 40s who killed his wife and then stabbed his mother-in-law with a weapon before fleeing in Incheon was arrested by police in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.
The Michuhol Police Station in Incheon announced on the 7th that they arrested Mr. A (42) at a motel in Suwon on charges of murder and attempted murder. Mr. A is accused of stabbing his wife, Ms. B, in her 40s, multiple times with a weapon at their home in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, at 12:37 a.m. on the 4th, causing her death, and then fleeing the scene.
Mr. A also stabbed his mother-in-law, Ms. C, in her 60s, who was present at the time. Ms. C escaped and was transported to a hospital by the 119 emergency medical team that arrived at the scene and is currently receiving treatment. Ms. B was found in the living room inside the house, while Ms. C was found collapsed near the road outside the house.
Immediately after the crime, Mr. A reportedly fled to the Incheon and Siheung areas in Gyeonggi Province using a Korando vehicle and public transportation. The police formed a special investigation team of 30 officers and analyzed CCTV footage around the crime scene. They apprehended him at around 1 a.m. on the third day after the escape at a motel in Paldal-gu, Suwon.
