Simplified Document Requirements for Opening Deposit and Savings Accounts... 28 Types of Public MyData Services Added
Significant Reduction in Required Certificates for Bank Account Opening, Credit Score Benefit Application, and Student Loan Support Application
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 4th that it will expand 28 additional types of public MyData services starting from the 5th. The public MyData service, which began at the end of last year, has increased from the existing 24 types, including small business funding applications and credit card issuance, to a total of 52 types with the addition of these 28 new services.
Public MyData is a service that allows citizens, as data subjects, to request that administrative and public institutions provide administrative information about themselves to desired destinations. It provides only the necessary items from submitted documents in a bundled (package) form.
First, when applying for financial services such as deposit/savings account subscription or extension, and retirement pension subscription, the public MyData service can be used. There is no need to separately prepare 22 types of certificates such as resident registration copies (original or certified) and income amount certificates required for opening deposit/savings accounts, as they can be easily submitted through public MyData.
Additionally, in cases where housewives or young workers with few credit transaction records apply for credit evaluation score benefits based on non-financial transaction information such as taxes and employment, 13 types of certificates including national tax payment certificates and health insurance qualification certificates can be submitted via public MyData. Furthermore, when applying for student financial aid services such as national scholarships and student loans at the Korea Student Aid Foundation, 11 types of certificates including disability certificates and self-support worker confirmation certificates can be submitted through public MyData.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to continuously expand the institutions providing public MyData services and the administrative information available to citizens, striving to spread the MyData ecosystem throughout society.
