Hapcheon-gun Launches Nationwide First Home Visit Nursing Center in Full Operation
Resolving Regional Imbalance in Long-Term Care (Home Nursing) Infrastructure
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is attracting attention by operating a ‘Home Visit Nursing Center’ to provide nursing services by visiting the homes of elderly long-term care grade holders, the first among public health centers nationwide.
The county health center established the Home Visit Nursing Center, which provides home visit nursing equipment to homebound patients who have difficulty visiting hospitals or need nursing care, within the Wari Health Clinic in Yulgok-myeon, and officially started operations after the opening ceremony on July 25.
The service users of the center are those elderly long-term care grade holders who wish to receive home care benefits (home visit nursing) services, and they receive the necessary home visit nursing services through contracts within the monthly limit amount according to the long-term care grade.
The county health center decided to actively utilize health clinics and nursing personnel, which have good accessibility for local residents and foster mutual bonds, in the installation and operation of the center.
As of the end of December last year, the elderly population aged 65 and over in Hapcheon was 17,590, accounting for 41% of the total population of 42,935.
