Gwangju Bank Awards 130 Million Won in Scholarships to Local Talents
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank recently held the 2022 Gwangju Bank Scholarship Foundation Certificate Award Ceremony at its headquarters, attended by Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, and Kim Yang-gyun, Chairman of the Gwangju Bank Scholarship Foundation, and announced the delivery of scholarships totaling 130 million KRW.
Gwangju Bank established the Gwangju Bank Scholarship Foundation as a corporate foundation in 1981 and has awarded scholarships worth a total of 3.6 billion KRW to over 4,000 local scholarship students over 41 years, firmly establishing itself as a cradle of regional scholarship projects.
At this scholarship certificate award ceremony, the Gwangju Bank Scholarship Foundation selected 104 students from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions who were recommended by high schools, universities, local governments, and other institutions, and who demonstrated excellent academic performance and exemplary conduct, and awarded scholarships totaling 130 million KRW.
Fifty scholarship recipients attended the ceremony, receiving their scholarship certificates along with commemorative gifts, and were congratulated and encouraged by Gwangju Bank executives and employees.
