Medical AI Robot Company Konective Secures Seed Investment from Kakao Ventures
[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Connective, a digital healthcare company specializing in AI-based robotic joint replacement surgery, announced on the 2nd that it has secured seed investment from Kakao Ventures. Schmidt also participated in this round alongside Kakao Ventures. The investment amount was not disclosed. Connective plans to raise a Pre-A round in the first half of next year.
Connective was founded last year by Professor Noduhyun, an orthopedic specialist at Seoul National University Hospital who specializes in knee joints. The company develops software that enables the use of over 100,000 images labeled directly by specialists for surgical applications. According to the company, "By leveraging Connective's AI-based surgical planning technology, the longest surgical time?a major drawback of robotic joint replacement surgery?can be reduced, and surgical accuracy is significantly improved."
Connective is developing various services and technologies related to joint replacement surgery. These include ▲‘Connective X,’ an automatic interpretation software that allows quick and accurate X-ray review even during short outpatient visits ▲‘Connective S,’ which helps predict complications such as transfusion, kidney side effects, and delirium after joint replacement surgery ▲‘Connective P,’ which enables specialists to easily plan surgeries for joint replacement and osteotomy ▲‘Connective H,’ an integrated rehabilitation guidance solution after surgery ▲and ‘Connective R,’ an AI-based surgical robot that enables precise surgery based on patient data during joint replacement surgery. The development goal is to help patients actively participate in the treatment process from outpatient care to surgery and postoperative recovery through technology.
CEO Noduhyun emphasized, “The company name Connective combines ‘connect,’ meaning to link, and ‘everything,’ referring to all patient data and technology. Through the integration of data and technology, we aim to create unprecedented value.”
