Hyundai Motor Company Sold 325,999 Units in July 2022, 4.0% Increase Year-on-Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 1st that it sold a total of 325,999 vehicles worldwide in July, including 56,305 units domestically and 269,694 units overseas. Compared to the same period last year, domestic sales decreased by 5.9%, but overseas sales increased by 6.3%.
In the domestic market in July, Hyundai sold 56,305 units, down 5.9% from the same month last year. Sedans sold a total of 15,903 units, including 6,777 units of the Grandeur, 4,412 units of the Sonata, and 4,697 units of the Avante.
For RVs, a total of 15,371 units were sold, including 3,113 units of the Palisade, 1,361 units of the Santa Fe, 1,548 units of the Tucson, 3,102 units of the Ioniq 5, and 4,478 units of the Casper. The Porter recorded sales of 8,986 units, and the Staria sold 2,998 units. Medium and large buses and trucks sold 2,535 units.
The premium brand Genesis sold a total of 10,512 units, including 2,274 units of the G90, 2,966 units of the G80, 1,931 units of the GV80, 2,231 units of the GV70, and 536 units of the GV60.

In the overseas market, Hyundai sold 269,694 units, a 6.3% increase compared to the same month last year. A Hyundai Motor official stated, “Despite concerns over the resurgence of COVID-19, the difficult business environment continues due to semiconductor parts supply disruptions, expanding inflation, and economic recession. In the second half of this year, we will launch competitive new models such as the Ioniq 6 and the new Grandeur, and through production and sales optimization strategies, we aim to expand market share and strengthen profitability.”
