National Gwangju Science Museum Hosts Special Summer Vacation Week Event
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The National Gwangju Science Museum is holding a special summer vacation week until the 28th, hosting a variety of events that the whole family can enjoy during the summer vacation season.
The plastic special exhibition "The Two Faces of Plastic," which opened last month, allows visitors to explore the dual nature of plastic, an essential material inseparable from our daily lives and also identified as a major cause of environmental pollution, through various hands-on experiences.
In connection with this, on the 17th, the August Science School will be held under the theme "Plastic that Converts Light into Electricity," and on the 21st, a special invited lecture by PhilScience titled "Plastic and the Anthropocene" will provide an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of plastic.
Starting from the 6th, paper fans will be distributed as souvenirs on a first-come, first-served basis to visitors, encouraging citizens to participate in reducing plastic use in daily life.
Various events to escape the heat are also being held. The "Water Science Experience Center," which opened on the 29th of last month, has been sold out daily and has established itself as a representative urban summer retreat in Gwangju.
With various auxiliary experiences such as pedal boats, water baskets, and water gun play, as well as various convenience facilities and staff holding lifeguard certifications, the center ensures fun, cleanliness, and safety without any gaps.
On the 12th, a special observation event for the "Perseus Meteor Shower," which will decorate the midsummer night, will also be held.
