Realmeter "President Yoon's Approval Rating at 33.1%... Daily Survey Shows Entry into 20% Range"
Negative ratings surpass positive ratings in all age groups except those over 70
Negative public opinion is high in all regions including Daegu and Gyeongbuk
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his national administration has slightly declined. As the negative evaluation indicating poor performance of the administration increased, the gap between positive and negative evaluations widened further. When examined on a daily basis, the approval rating showed a downward trend in the latter half of the week compared to the beginning, increasing the possibility of a further decline.
According to a public opinion poll conducted by Realmeter on behalf of Media Tribune (from the 25th to the 29th, targeting 2,519 adults aged 18 and over nationwide), 33.1% of respondents evaluated President Yoon's national administration positively (19.8% very well, 13.3% fairly well), while 64.5% responded negatively (7.8% fairly poorly, 56.8% very poorly). Positive evaluations decreased by 0.2 percentage points compared to last week's survey, while negative evaluations increased by 1.1 percentage points.
As a result, the negative evaluation exceeded the positive evaluation by 31.4 percentage points.
Moreover, looking at the daily opinion polls, the positive evaluation of the administration peaked at 38.3% on the 26th but continuously declined to 28.7% on the 29th. Realmeter noted that this is the first time the daily aggregate has fallen into the 20% range.
By region, negative evaluations were higher than positive evaluations nationwide, including Daegu and Gyeongbuk. In terms of age groups, only those aged 70 and above showed higher positive evaluations than negative ones.
Regarding party support, the Democratic Party's approval rating rose by 1.4 percentage points to 46.0%, the People Power Party fell by 1.3 percentage points to 38.4%, and the Justice Party increased by 0.5 percentage points to 3.8%.
