Gwangju Chamber of Commerce Provides Intensive FTA Training for Students of Regional Specialized High Schools
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju FTA Utilization Support Center, operated by the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, announced on the 29th that it conducted the ‘FTA Origin Practical Specialist Training’ jointly with the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Employment Support Center to cultivate young trade talents in the region.
This training program was designed to nurture students from regional specialized high schools into FTA origin practical experts, aiming to increase employment rates and enhance trade competitiveness by securing origin management specialists for local companies.
The program targeted 13 students from three specialized high schools in the region?Gwangju Girls' Commercial High School, Songwon Girls' Commercial High School, and Jeonnam Girls' Commercial High School?and was held over five days from July 25 to 29 at the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Employment Support Center.
The participating students received focused training centered on ▲FTA Origin Theory ▲FTA Origin Practice ▲Origin Management System to prepare for the Origin Practical Specialist qualification exam, and they will challenge the 2022 ‘Origin Practical Specialist’ certification organized by the International Origin Information Institute in the second half of this year.
All expenses related to the certification exam will be supported by the Gwangju FTA Utilization Support Center.

Lee Hu-hyung, Director of the Gwangju FTA Utilization Support Center, stated, “While opportunities to expand exports through FTAs are increasing, such as with the recent enforcement of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership earlier this year, there is a shortage of FTA specialists in the region. The Gwangju FTA Utilization Support Center will actively lead the cultivation of trade talents in the region by offering various FTA specialized training programs in addition to training for export company employees.”
