Gwangju Dong-gu 'Sangsang Plus Center' Public-Private-Academic Partnership Agreement
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 29th that it has signed a public-private-academic business agreement to create the youth-led complex cultural space ‘Sangsang Plus Center,’ which will serve as a hub facility for the Gyelim 1-dong urban regeneration project.
At the signing ceremony, attended by Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, Jin Jeong-jun, Principal of Gwangju High School, Park Hyung-joo, Director of Gwangju Youth Life Design Center, and Moon Soo-young, Director of Gwangju Youth Activity Promotion Center, the institutions agreed to mutually cooperate to actively reflect the opinions and ideas of youth from the planning stage in the creation of Sangsang Plus Center.
‘Sangsang Plus Center’ is planned to be a youth-centered resident welfare, culture, economy, and community space, equipped with various functions reflecting youth demands such as a book caf?, music activity room, media studio, and cooking room, making it a complex cultural space for youth.
Dong-gu plans to actively incorporate the opinions of youth who will use the center, including students from Gwangju High School, during the architectural design phase of Sangsang Plus Center in the second half of this year, and to develop it as a representative complex cultural space that can serve as a base for their activities.
