[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] The legal representative of the businessman who accused Lee Jun-seok, the leader of the People Power Party, of providing sexual bribery has announced plans to file a false accusation charge against him.

On the 28th, Kang Shin-up, the lawyer representing Kim Seong-jin, CEO of iKist, told reporters ahead of the police's third witness investigation, "Next week, we will file a false accusation charge against Representative Lee Jun-seok at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency."

Lawyer Kang stated, "This false accusation charge is in response to Lee filing defamation lawsuits against lawyer Kang Yong-seok and former reporter Kim Se-ui. Although Lee received sexual bribery, he denied it and sued them, which constitutes false accusation."

In December last year, the YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute' raised suspicions that Lee had received sexual bribery from CEO Kim in 2013 and reported Lee to the prosecution on charges of bribery under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.

In response, Lee denied the allegations and filed a defamation complaint against them with the police under the Information and Communications Network Act for spreading false information.

The Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, which took over the case from the prosecution, launched an investigation into Lee's sexual bribery allegations and has been interviewing CEO Kim as a witness since last month.
