"CJ Freshway Strengthens Cafeteria and Product Inspections, Operates Food Safety Management Period"
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] CJ Freshway announced on the 28th that it will strengthen food safety management, focusing on group meal service facilities in multi-use establishments and temperature-sensitive product categories during the summer vacation season.
CJ Freshway will operate a "Summer Food Safety Intensive Management Period" until September, when food safety incidents such as food poisoning are a concern. During this period, CJ Freshway will, centered on the Customer Quality Safety Center, conduct ▲on-site guidance at group meal operation stores ▲quality inspections of temperature-sensitive products during the summer. In particular, on-site guidance will be focused on water parks, resorts, rest areas, and golf courses. The food preparation process, including heating and disinfection to prevent food poisoning, will be monitored, and related educational materials will be distributed. A ban order has also been issued to stop the use of menus and ingredients sensitive to freshness.
Efforts will also be made to manage hygiene in cooking environments. Cleaning and disinfection will be strengthened in hygiene-vulnerable areas such as refrigeration and freezing facilities and drainage systems, and cooking utensils, ingredient expiration dates, and storage conditions will be inspected. Management of logistics centers and delivery vehicles will also be conducted. Hygiene safety education will be provided to logistics center employees, and the labeling of origin and expiration dates of products stored in the logistics center will be checked. Delivery vehicles will be guided to optimize vehicle temperature and product loading and unloading times suitable for the summer season.
CJ Freshway will actively inspect food manufacturing partners as well. Twenty-six items that are highly affected by temperature, such as salads, tofu, and liquid eggs, have been selected, and on-site visits will be made to inspect manufacturing processes and equipment. Additionally, hazardous substance analyses will be conducted on semi-finished products, finished products, equipment, and cooking tools.
