Bungaejangter Announces Used Goods Trading Trends for 3 Months Before and After Endemic
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Bungaejangter (CEO Choi Jae-hwa) announced on the 26th that, according to a survey on secondhand transaction trends of users after the endemic, the total transaction amount in the Sports & Leisure category increased by 19.3% in the three months after the social distancing was lifted (April 18 to July 17) compared to the three months before the lifting (January 18 to April 17).
In particular, transactions for bicycles, tennis, and golf showed remarkable growth. Tennis transaction volume surged by 50.1% after the social distancing was lifted, showing a steep growth trend, while bicycles increased by 27.5%, and golf transactions rose by 13.7%.
Along with an earlier-than-usual heat wave compared to previous years, water sports-related transactions also showed a sharp upward trend. The water sports category saw a high increase of 68.6% in transaction volume during the three months after the social distancing was lifted compared to the same period last year, supporting the fact that leisure activities are increasing. Among subcategories, transactions for swimming and water play equipment rose significantly by 71.6%, and those related to swimsuits increased by 78.9%.

A Bungaejangter official said, "Due to the lifting of social distancing and seasonal changes, transactions in the Sports & Leisure category on Bungaejangter have recently shown a noticeable upward trend," adding, "In particular, consumers are increasingly opening their wallets for offline leisure activities, and it is expected that this trend of preference transactions focused on leisure and recreational activities will continue for the time being."
