[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Audi is unveiling a broad product lineup including electric vehicles and compact segment models. Through lineup expansion, Audi plans to offer domestic customers a wider range of choices along with a more diverse brand experience and value.
According to the Korea Imported Car Association registration data as of the 26th, Audi sold a total of 25,615 vehicles last year, ranking third among imported car brands. Notably, it sold 1,553 electric vehicles, the highest number among imported car brands.
Last year, Audi focused on expanding its vehicle lineup, especially the electric vehicle e-tron lineup. This year, Audi plans to complete a more diverse product lineup in the electric vehicle sector and present the future of premium mobility, aiming for both quantitative and qualitative growth.
First, in the electric vehicle category, Audi launched the high-performance models 'Audi e-tron S' and 'Audi e-tron S Sportback' in April, and is also preparing to release the first compact segment electric model of the year, the ‘Audi Q4 e-tron’.
In particular, the ‘Audi Q4 e-tron’, scheduled for release in the second half of the year, is Audi’s first pure electric SUV in the compact segment and is expected to lead the popularization of premium electric vehicles. The ‘Audi Q4 e-tron’ boasts a long driving range of up to 520 km based on European certification (WLTP), offering high everyday practicality. It features a low center of gravity and balanced weight distribution for sporty driving, precise handling, and excellent safety. Additionally, the progressive design of the concept car is applied as is, providing spacious interior space and pioneering solutions considerate of the user.
Along with this, Audi plans to expand its product lineup in the compact segment this year by introducing various models so that more customers can experience Audi.
The 2022 models ‘Audi Q3 35 TDI’ and ‘Audi Q3 Sportback 35 TDI’, launched on the 2nd, are available in three trims: Base, Premium, and Quattro Premium. The ‘Audi Q3’ and ‘Audi Q3 Sportback’ are front-wheel-drive models equipped with a 2.0L diesel direct injection turbocharged engine and a 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission, boasting agile driving performance and excellent fuel efficiency.
The ‘New Audi A3 40 TFSI’, which began pre-orders on the 16th, is a second-generation model praised for its outstanding ride comfort, dynamic yet efficient driving performance, and spacious interior, innovatively elevating the value of the 4-door compact sedan.
