[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The National Gwangju Science Museum announced that it is successfully operating the special exhibition "Ddiriddiri Computer World," planned together with Seoul SangSang Nara, to help children develop logical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
This exhibition, designed to help children easily understand the basic concepts of coding through hands-on experiences, allows them to learn principles such as binary numbers, commands, and flowcharts more easily through various activities, including expressing their age in binary.
In particular, visitors are drawn to exhibits like "Connecting Each Other," where they can insert components necessary to operate a computer onto a motherboard to understand computer principles, and "My Age Made with 0s and 1s," which helps them learn the binary system used by computers to process information.
Additionally, children can grasp the concept of computer commands through puzzle games, maze escapes, and xylophone performances.
Deputy Director Jeon Tae-ho said, "We hope children naturally explore the basic principles of computers through play," adding, "As the importance of software education grows, the National Gwangju Science Museum will strive to develop various exhibition contents to help youth cultivate digital literacy, a core competency for future talents."
This exhibition, planned by Seoul SangSang Nara and hosted by the National Gwangju Science Museum, can be found at the Dorandoran Rest Area on the first floor of the Children's Science Museum.
Since its opening in May, about 20,000 visitors have come to experience the exhibition, which will run until the end of December this year, responding to the news that children can easily access coding.
