Gangdong-gu Resumes Operation of Temporary COVID-19 Screening Centers
[Seoul District News] Gangdong-gu, Temporary Screening Centers Reopened and Night/Weekend Testing Expanded to Improve Access Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases Due to Recent Variant Virus Spread
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced that it will resume the operation of temporary screening clinics from July 22 in response to the resurgence of COVID-19, taking proactive measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
The location is the previously operated Amsa Station History Park parking lot (192 Amsa-dong), and it will be open on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and Sundays from 1 PM to 9 PM, allowing residents to get tested even at night. However, the clinic will be closed during disinfection hours (5 PM to 6 PM), on Saturdays, and on public holidays.
At the testing site, only priority PCR test candidates can be tested, including seniors aged 60 and above (born in 1962 or earlier), those with epidemiological links, individuals who tested positive on rapid antigen test kits (self-diagnosis), and overseas entrants.
Residents seeking PCR tests must bring identification, a doctor's note, a health center notification message, or a sealed positive self-diagnosis kit as proof when visiting. Bringing a smartphone allows convenient completion of the electronic questionnaire via QR code.
For user convenience, the district will open the parking lot opposite the temporary screening clinic at the Amsa Historic Site free of charge exclusively for clinic users, and will provide cooling measures such as air coolers and large fans to combat the heat. Additionally, the congestion status of screening clinics will be provided hourly through the Smart Seoul Map on the district website.
