Jeju Air "Crew Talent Donation Activities Resume"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Jeju Air announced on the 22nd that it has resumed its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities, which it has been carrying out for 15 years in collaboration with Jeju Boyukwon (Jeju Orphanage).
As part of establishing a foundation for achieving ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performance across its management in 2022, Jeju Air decided to further strengthen its social contribution activities. The specialized team ‘Bonguri,’ composed of Jeju Air flight attendants, conducted cookie house making classes for elementary school students at Jeju Boyukwon and provided second language and piano lessons for middle and high school students.
Starting from this day, they also added a flight attendant job experience and plan to hold special classes once a month. Since 2007, Jeju Air has regularly conducted activities with Jeju Boyukwon, including English education, trips to Seoul, study tours to Saipan, and events for delivering school supplies.
Although face-to-face classes could not be held for over two years due to the spread of COVID-19, the program was completely revamped after the social distancing measures were lifted, and volunteer activities including in-person classes have resumed. A Jeju Air official said, “We plan to expand special classes to various job fields so that the children at the orphanage can dream diverse dreams.”
