KCCI: "Government's Semiconductor Industry Competitiveness Measures Well Prepared Overall"
"National Assembly Must Actively Cooperate"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Korea Employers Federation (KEF) has expressed its welcome for the 'Measures to Strengthen Semiconductor Industry Competitiveness' announced by the government on the 21st.
KEF stated, "The government's announced 'Strategy to Achieve Semiconductor Superpower Status' comprehensively includes measures to enhance the competitiveness of South Korea's semiconductor industry through public-private cooperation and government support."
On the same day, the government announced plans under the 'Measures to Strengthen Semiconductor Industry Competitiveness' to invest approximately 340 trillion won over five years and to nurture more than 150,000 personnel over ten years.
KEF said, "The contents, including corporate investment support, joint public-private workforce development, securing leading technologies, and building a materials, parts, and equipment ecosystem, reflect the voices from the semiconductor industry field, which have been continuously raised as necessary in the industrial sector."

They added, "We hope the government and the National Assembly will actively cooperate to ensure the government's support measures are implemented successfully and promptly," emphasizing, "Through active communication between the public and private sectors to supplement any shortcomings, we expect this to be an opportunity for our country, currently a semiconductor powerhouse, to transform into a global superpower."
