Korea Toyota Donates 5 Training Vehicles to Automotive Technical College
This Year, 7 Automobile Universities and 8 Campuses Sign Business Agreement
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Korea Toyota Motor announced on the 21st that it held a handover ceremony to donate five educational vehicles to five automotive technical colleges nationwide at the Toyota Training Center located in Seongsu-dong as part of the industry-academia cooperation program 'T-TEP.'
T-TEP is a social contribution activity by Korea Toyota Motor for nurturing talent in the automotive industry sector. Following 2021, this year it also signed agreements with eight campuses of seven automotive universities nationwide. Korea Toyota Motor has been providing automotive technician education, including electrification technology, to students of partner universities, and last year also delivered eight educational vehicles for technical practice.
The event was attended by professors from five universities nationwide that have industry-academia cooperation agreements. The program included a tour of the Toyota Training Center, a comprehensive educational facility that has adopted Toyota's 'Kaizen (improvement)' system, as well as education on the newly released electrified vehicles.
The donated vehicles included a total of five cars: the Lexus electric vehicle (BEV) model ‘UX 300e’ released in June, Lexus’s best-selling model ‘ES 300h,’ one Toyota hybrid model, and two Lexus gasoline models. Each was delivered to T-TEP partner universities: Seojeong University, Korea Polytechnic University Namdaegu Campus, Ajou Motor College, Busan University of Science and Technology, and Seoyoung University.
