Gwangju Customs Regional Head Visits POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks Site
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 20th, Jeong Seung-hwan, Commissioner of Gwangju Main Customs, visited POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks, one of the region's key steel product export companies, to engage in on-site communication.
This visit was made to find ways to overcome difficulties faced by companies and enhance export competitiveness through tax support and resolving overseas customs clearance issues, despite the unstable global situation caused by factors such as the US interest rate hikes, prolonged Russia-Ukraine conflict, and rising raw material prices.
Commissioner Jeong expressed his respect for the company’s active utilization of the Korea Customs Service’s Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) system, which has strengthened its competitiveness in the global market and earned international trust.
He stated, “We will actively support companies so that they can secure export price competitiveness by benefiting from simplified customs procedures such as exemption from customs inspections through the AEO system overseas and preferential tariff rates under FTAs.”
The Gwangju Main Customs will continue to create opportunities to listen to various field opinions to revitalize export companies.
