Yeosu Nanum Happiness 'Jawon Sunhwan Gage' Exhibition and Experience Event Held

[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeonnam Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that it will hold the ‘Yeosu Sharing Happiness, Resource Circulation Store’ exhibition and experience event during the Expo 10th Anniversary event period from the 22nd to the 31st.

This event, held at the Yeosu World Expo EDG, was prepared to revitalize the operation of the resource circulation store and create a boom in citizen participation.

The booth will feature exhibitions of upcycling works and promotions for proper separation and disposal methods for resource recycling.

In addition, programs that tourists and citizens can directly experience, such as making flowerpots recycled from disposable coffee cups and making mask holders from bottle caps and straws, will be operated. Each day, the first 10 teams (individuals) can participate, and applications can be made on-site free of charge.

An online relay campaign ‘Go! Go! Challenge’ to revitalize the resource circulation store will also be held.

Participants write a pledge message to practice resource recycling, post it on SNS, and then nominate the next group or individual.

Along with this, a living experiment (living lab) will be conducted for citizens to consider household waste problems themselves and increase the resource recycling collection rate.

Nine institutions and organizations, including the Yeosu City Hall Sharing Nuri Volunteer Group Joltakdongsi, Han Young University Simbong Volunteer Group and Hwasan Volunteer Group, Korea Women’s Association Yeosu Branch, Sijeon and Jungang-dong Saemaeul Association, resource circulation activists, and Jeollanam-do government officials’ research group Dongbu Family, will participate to exchange various ideas for solving household waste problems.

A city official said, “This event was prepared to realize a resource circulation economy through proper recycling practices in daily life. We hope for active participation from citizens and tourists.”
