After a lecture at the study group he hosted, "Innovation 24 New Future (Saemirae)," Kim said in a meeting with reporters, "Approval ratings are falling day by day, and the momentum of state affairs is weakening. I think this is one of the tasks we must do in the sense that we need time to feel this desperate sense of crisis ourselves and for something to change."
Kim, who is mentioned as a potential next party leader candidate, has publicly stated that the emergency leadership system led by Kwon Seong-dong, acting party leader and floor leader, is undesirable. This statement is interpreted as a direct critique of Acting Leader Kwon.
A total of 56 current lawmakers attended the meeting, an increase from about 40 attendees at the first and second meetings. Kim appointed lawmakers Kang Min-guk, Koo Ja-geun, Noh Yong-ho, Bae Jun-young, and Hwang Bo-seung-hee as operating committee members.
The lecturer for this study group was former Minister of Strategy and Finance Park Jae-wan. The next meeting will be led by Minister of Unification Kwon Young-se, who will discuss the unification policy direction of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration.

During the Q&A session following the lecture, the strike by subcontractors at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering became a topic. When lawmaker Jung Woo-taek asked, "The government should take a wise stance on the illegal strike by the strong labor union, but there are concerns that this will start a conflict between labor and government. What stance should the Yoon administration take?" former Minister Park responded, "It is important to respond firmly and strictly according to law and principles regarding violence and strike occupations and to establish discipline. While various strategies can be flexibly and diversely considered depending on detailed situations, the principles must not be shaken."
