View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] SK Telecom announced on the 19th that it will expand the ‘Support for SKT RCS Biz Web Messaging Service for Major Non-Profit Organizations and ESG-Related Startups,’ which is being carried out as part of its 'ESG 2.0' management initiative, starting from the second half of this year.
SKT RCS Biz Web is a business platform that utilizes and manages various RCS services of SK Telecom. Since April, SK Telecom has been providing up to 300,000 RCS messaging services per institution through SKT RCS Biz Web to organizations such as the United Nations Refugee Agency and the Korean Red Cross.
In the second half of this year, SK Telecom plans to expand the support targets to 16 organizations and companies, including non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and social innovation startups that require promotion, in order to solve social issues and create social value.
The SKT RCS Biz Web messaging service sent to SK Telecom customers consists of features that enhance message reliability and delivery effectiveness, including ▲slide-type messages composed of up to six cards per message ▲message templates selectable by the sender ▲UI provided through buttons that can insert URLs ▲display of the sending company’s logo information and brand home navigation without saving the phone number.
SK Telecom expects that organizations and companies receiving messaging service support through SKT RCS Biz Web will be able to replace paper newsletters and sponsorship letters with RCS, achieving an annual carbon reduction effect of approximately 60 tons (t).
Following the declaration of ESG 2.0 management at the regular shareholders' meeting in March and the announcement in May of the 2021 social value measurement results, which increased by 20.3% compared to the previous year, SK Telecom plans to continuously discover and carry out ESG practices through its services, such as the support case of SKT RCS Biz Web messaging service.
