Hampyeong-gun Launches Sewerage Priority Maintenance Project with 31.3 Billion Won Investment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 18th, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will newly start a focused sewer maintenance project by investing 31.3 billion KRW to prevent flood damage in the Hampyeong-eup area.
The focused sewer maintenance project is a project to expand and repair sewer pipe capacity in areas that have experienced flood damage due to insufficient sewer pipe capacity during heavy rainfall or where there is a risk of such damage occurring.
The county plans to install new sewer pipelines (1,978m), improve existing pipelines (2,154m), and build one drainage pumping station in the Hampyeong-eup area including Hampyeong-ri, Naegyo-ri, and Gigak-ri by 2024.
A county official said, "Through this maintenance project, we will prevent flood damage in densely populated residential areas in advance," and added, "We will do our best to protect the lives and property of residents."

Meanwhile, Hampyeong-gun has also been selected as a focused sewer management area by the Ministry of Environment for the school-myeon, Wolya-myeon, and Daedong-myeon areas, and plans to complete the project by 2025 by investing 44.1 billion KRW.
