Positive Reviews for Escape and Rescue Techniques Using Light Line and Others
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Kim Joil) announced on the 18th that Yeosu Fire Station took first place at the ‘2nd Rescue Policy Workshop’ held to strengthen the on-site response capabilities of 119 rescue team members.
Now in its second year, this competition was organized to research innovative measures for the development of rescue policies, such as enhancing the capabilities of 119 rescue team members and discovering new rescue techniques.
Ten fire stations participated in this competition, with the first round involving the review of research reports, and the top five fire stations advancing to the second round presentation competition to determine the final rankings.
Yeosu Fire Station, which took first place, presented on the topic of ‘Emergency Escape and Rescue Techniques for Isolated Firefighters,’ showcasing escape and rescue methods using tools such as light lines, earning high praise from the judges.
Yeosu Fire Station will represent Jeonnam at the national presentation competition held in August at the Sejong Convention Center, where cities and provinces from across the country will participate.
Choi Kijeong, Head of the Rescue and Emergency Department, said, “I am grateful to the participants who explored various approaches and conducted in-depth research on rescue policies while preparing for this competition,” and added, “We will support Yeosu Fire Station, which won first place, so that they can achieve good results as Jeonnam’s representative at the national presentation competition.”
Kim Joil, Chief of Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, said, “I hope this research leads to the discovery of effective rescue techniques and becomes a policy that provides better rescue services to the public,” and urged, “Please do your best in developing better policies through research-oriented firefighting.”
