Asiana Airlines Increases Flights to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Asiana Airlines is increasing flights on the Ulaanbaatar route, known as the "City of Genghis Khan," in Mongolia.
Asiana Airlines announced on the 18th that it has doubled the frequency of the Incheon-Ulaanbaatar route from twice a week to four times a week until the 28th of next month. The flight departs Incheon Airport at exactly 9:00 AM and arrives at Ulaanbaatar Airport at 11:35 AM local time. The return flight departs at 1:20 PM local time and arrives at Incheon Airport at 5:30 PM. A 298-seat A330 aircraft is deployed to ensure passengers have a comfortable journey.
Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia and the political, economic, and cultural center, home to about 45% of the country's population. Visitors can enjoy horseback riding and fishing in the natural surroundings of Terelj National Park, a UNESCO natural and cultural heritage site, which features unique rock formations, grasslands, and wildflowers. They can also experience nomadic life by staying in traditional dwellings called "ger." Additionally, the Gobi Desert, one of the world's top three stargazing locations and the largest desert in Asia, offers a vast plain to admire stars shining in the dark. Mongolia has lifted COVID-19 related entry restrictions, allowing free entry without vaccination or PCR tests, and Korean nationals can travel visa-free for up to 90 days.
To celebrate the increased flights, Asiana Airlines is running various promotions. Until the 10th of next month, customers purchasing Incheon-Ulaanbaatar tickets on Asiana Airlines' PC and mobile websites can access special discounted fares.
