The Nation's First 'Media Art and Ice Show Collaboration' Performance to Debut Next Month in Gangneung
8.5~9.4 Musical Performance on Ice at Gangneung Hockey Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] A performance combining media art and ice show, introduced for the first time in Korea, will be held for one month from August 5 to September 4 at the Gangneung Hockey Center.
According to Gangneung City on the 15th, this performance is the result of a regional-linked advanced CT demonstration project aimed at revitalizing the Gangneung Hockey Center, a legacy facility from the Winter Olympics, with the city promoting it to create a cultural space.
Director Choi Cheol-gi, who directed Korean-style non-verbal performances such as Nanta, Jump, Bebop, and Infinite Flying that have attracted worldwide attention, is in charge of the overall production.
Current and former national team skaters, professional action actors, and professional actors will unite to create a musical on the ice rink.
In addition, media art using advanced technologies independently developed in Korea, such as 3D projection mapping, holograms, and animatronics, will create a fantastic space.
In particular, large-scale accommodation facilities such as Yongpyong Resort, Skybay Hotel, St. John's Hotel, and La Kai Sandpine are linked to offer package discount benefits including accommodation discounts and Gangneung tourism products such as KTX and Gangneung Pass.
