Daejeon City Conducts Hygiene Inspections at Rail Stations and Other High-Traffic Facilities During Vacation Season
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 15th that from the 18th to the 25th, it will conduct joint hygiene inspections targeting restaurants within public facilities such as railway stations, highway rest areas, campsites, and kids cafes, as well as summer peak season food manufacturing businesses.
The inspections will be carried out by a joint public-private inspection team composed of the city, five autonomous districts, the Daejeon Food and Drug Administration, and consumer food hygiene inspectors. Inspectors (8 people in 4 teams) will conduct cross-inspections in areas excluding their own working districts.
The main inspection items include ▲ use of expired or prohibited raw materials for food ▲ use of unreported or unlabeled products ▲ compliance with preservation standards for frozen and refrigerated products ▲ personal hygiene of workers ▲ compliance with hygienic handling standards for food, etc.
To prevent food poisoning, the city also plans to collect and test summer high-consumption foods such as Sikhye, cold noodles (broth), Kongguksu (soybean soup), shaved ice, and ice beverages sold at food service businesses and instant sales manufacturing and processing businesses.
Minor violations that are not directly related to food hygiene will be corrected on-site through guidance, while administrative measures will be taken to ensure correction and improvement of non-compliant businesses.
