[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Mirae Asset Group is raising a fund to invest $100 million (approximately 130 billion KRW) in Elon Musk's space exploration company SpaceX.
Mirae Asset announced on the 14th that it held a board meeting on the 11th and resolved to invest $100 million in SpaceX's round funding.
Mirae Asset is one of the domestic financial institutions that made an early investment related to SpaceX. It formed the 'Mirae Asset Global Space Investment Association No. 1,' with Mirae Asset Securities contributing about 100 billion KRW and Mirae Asset Capital managing the fund.
The investment will be used for SpaceX's space rocket development and Starlink, which provides satellite internet connectivity services.
