Governor Park Wansu and representatives of the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions are holding a meeting regarding the subcontractor union strike at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.

Governor Park shared current issues regarding the strike of the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Metal Union Geoje-Tongyeong-Goseong Shipbuilding Subcontracting Branch with Head Jo Hyungrae and others, and discussed measures to resolve the prolonged strike.
Governor Park said, "As the subcontracting branch strike has been prolonged, the shipbuilding industry is facing a crisis due to disruptions in the production process," adding, "It is unfortunate that such an incident occurred during the recovery period of the shipbuilding industry."

He continued, "I am concerned as the situation has intensified, spreading not only to labor-management conflicts but also to conflicts among labor unions," and added, "I hope that through joint efforts, the situation will be resolved amicably as soon as possible."
