Recruitment of Teams for the 2022 Busan·Gyeongnam BizCool Youth Startup Competition
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] The Gyeongnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration announced on the 14th that it will hold the ‘2022 Busan·Gyeongnam Bizcool Youth Startup Competition’ to discover youths in the Busan and Gyeongnam areas with startup ideas, foster entrepreneurial spirit among youths, and expand the base of startups in the region.
Bizcool is a compound word of Business+School, meaning “learning management at school.”
This competition is a collaborative project jointly hosted by the Gyeongnam Small and Medium Business Administration and the Busan Small and Medium Business Administration. Any team consisting of 2 to 5 students from elementary, middle, or high schools in the Busan and Gyeongnam areas or students belonging to out-of-school youth support centers, along with one supervising teacher, can participate.
The centers are institutions established under Article 12 of the Act on Support for Out-of-School Youth, and for students belonging to these centers, participation is limited to those aged 19 or younger.
Teams wishing to participate must select one of the three themes of the competition and submit a business plan by August 12.
Based on the submitted business plans, 32 teams will be selected through a preliminary document screening to receive mentoring education. After evaluation of presentation videos, around 16 teams (4 elementary, 4 middle, 8 high school) will be selected to advance to the finals.
The three themes are ▲ Challenge, Local Creators We Make ▲ Technology Convergence Startup Ideas That Change the World ▲ Social Venture, Small Ideas That Warm the World.
Finalist teams will receive one-on-one in-depth mentoring and then present their prepared startup items at the final competition.
After the final judging on the day, participating teams will be awarded the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award, Busan·Gyeongnam Superintendent of Education Award, Busan·Gyeongnam Small and Medium Business Administration Director Award, and other prizes.
