Gyeonggi-do Promotes Expansion of Senior Employment Opportunities
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is promoting the expansion of jobs for the elderly.
The province announced on the 13th that, as part of support measures for vulnerable groups in the province with unstable incomes due to economic crises such as recent inflation, it will expand and efficiently operate jobs for the elderly.
First, the province plans to extend working hours for elderly job participants who have insufficient participation time due to activity suspensions caused by COVID-19, so that each person can fully use their allocated activity time.
The province expects that by utilizing unused budgets resulting from mid-term dropouts among the 93,751 elderly job project target this year, it will be able to recruit an additional 4,700 people.
Additionally, the province will increase the number of existing elderly job project institutions from the current 185 and continuously discover Gyeonggi Province-type good elderly job projects.
