Unauthorized Pollutant Discharge NO! ... Gyeongsan City Launches Special Surveillance and Crackdown on Environmental Pollution Activities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongsan City, Gyeongbuk Province, will conduct special monitoring and crackdowns on environmental pollution activities during the summer concentrated heavy rainfall period for business sites that may exacerbate green algae occurrence and environmental pollution in public water bodies.
This special monitoring and crackdown will be carried out until the end of August and will focus on businesses discharging environmental pollutants, providing guidance and educational activities on establishing countermeasures such as facility protection against heavy rainfall and pollutant reduction plans.
From the end of July to August, the crackdown will focus on wastewater discharge businesses that significantly impact water quality due to unauthorized pollutant discharge. If intentional illegal acts such as unauthorized wastewater discharge or abnormal operation of pollution prevention facilities are discovered, appropriate legal actions will be taken.
Additionally, for prevention facilities damaged by heavy rainfall, facility restoration will be encouraged, and technical support will be provided to businesses requiring assistance by utilizing specialized personnel.
