Creating a Safe and Comfortable Environment... Ulsan Office of Education Promotes Improvement of Elementary After-School Care Classrooms
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education has provided 298.6 million KRW in 'Elementary After-School Care Classroom Environment Improvement Funds' to 57 elementary schools.
This year's environment improvement funds were decided with a focus on creating a safe and comfortable after-school care service environment.
The improvement funds were used for renovating old facilities such as electrical panels on the classroom floors and sink installations, as well as replacing items past their usage period like refrigerators and TVs. Some funds will also be used for safety items such as educational tool sterilizers.
After receiving applications for environment improvement funds from schools in March, 20 elementary after-school care classroom consultants conducted on-site visits to schools from April to May to review the appropriateness of budget support and finalized the support amounts.
During the on-site visits, additional environment improvement funds were provided if the cases matched the purpose of support but had not been applied for in advance.
Schools will complete the maintenance of the care environment during the summer vacation period and provide better after-school care services to students starting from the second semester.
