Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun Urges Local Lawmakers to "Cooperate on Building Gyeonggi Southern Integrated International Airport"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-jun, mayor of Suwon, asked the members of the National Assembly from the Suwon area to "actively cooperate to ensure the smooth progress of the construction of the Gyeonggi Southern Integrated International Airport."
Mayor Lee requested cooperation for the promotion of the integrated international airport at the 'Suwon Area Party-Government Policy Meeting' held on the 11th at the Plaza Hall of Ramada Plaza Suwon Hotel.
Attending the meeting were Mayor Lee Jae-jun, Cho Cheong-sik, Suwon City's 1st Deputy Mayor, Yoo Moon-jong, 2nd Deputy Mayor, Assembly members Park Kwang-on (Suwon City Jeong), Baek Hye-ryun (Suwon City Eul), Kim Young-jin (Suwon City Byeong), Kim Seung-won (Suwon City Gap), and Lee Jae-sik, Vice Chairman of the Suwon City Council.
The mayor and assembly members discussed major issues of Suwon City, including ▲promotion of eco-friendly integrated international airport construction ▲securing finances for the special city status ▲attracting and supporting businesses ▲promotion of carbon-neutral green city projects.
Kim Yong-duk, Director of the City Planning and Coordination Office, reported on the status of the Kyungjin Passenger strike. The Kyungjin Passenger labor union, which decided on a full strike due to failed labor-management negotiations, suspended bus operations from the first run on the 11th.

The assembly members attending the meeting stated, "We will join forces to resolve Suwon City's pending issues and promote its development."
