Pyeongtaek City Hall Relocation - Expected Increase in Foot Traffic... "Developing as a Business Hub in Southern Gyeonggi"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] BNK Busan Bank announced on the 11th that it has established the Pyeongtaek Branch in Godeok-myeon, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi Province to pioneer the southern Gyeonggi market and build a foothold for business. The opening ceremony was attended by Busan Bank President An Gam-chan, Pyeongtaek Mayor Jeong Jang-seon, Pyeongtaek City Council Chairman Yoo Seung-young, and Pyeongtaek Chamber of Commerce Chairman Lee Bo-young.
The Pyeongtaek Branch is located in Godeok New Town, a large-scale new town development area within Pyeongtaek-si. Nearby are Songtan Industrial Complex, Chilgoe Industrial Complex, and Samsung Semiconductor Campus Factory, which are expected to generate diverse financial demands.
Additionally, the nearby area is set to become an administrative hub as the relocation of Pyeongtaek City Hall is confirmed for 2028. With plans for a department store opening and the establishment of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line, the floating population is expected to increase.
The Pyeongtaek Branch plans to expand community-based financial services along with stable asset growth by operating a branch that covers corporate finance centered on nearby industrial complexes and individuals and retail businesses in Godeok New Town. President An said, "The establishment of the Pyeongtaek Branch in the Gyeonggi area reflects Busan Bank's strong will to expand its metropolitan area business network and pioneer new markets," adding, "Busan Bank will continue to provide various financial services to companies and residents near Pyeongtaek City and do its best to make the Pyeongtaek Branch a key business base in the southern Gyeonggi region."
