Geumcheon-gu Hosts Cabbage Kimchi Making Event of Love with Neighbors
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) held a Love Cabbage Kimchi Making event at the Geumcheon Urban Agriculture Experience Center on the 7th.
This year, Geumcheon-gu established urban agriculture experience centers at Anyangcheon (719-5, Doksan-dong, left bank) and Gwangmyeong (332, Haan-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, Gwangmyeong Farm). Among these, Gwangmyeong Farm operates a camping farm (8 decks, 3,000㎡) and a weekend farm (50 public garden plots, 1,283㎡).
The Love Cabbage Kimchi Making experience event used about 200 cabbages harvested directly from Gwangmyeong Farm and was conducted with talent donations from the Siheung 4-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee. About 50 participants, including attendees of the Health Center’s Mind Sharing Garden Counseling Room, seniors from Hoam Senior Welfare Center, and daycare parents, took part.

We plan to hold a kimchi-making experience event in the autumn of November when the cabbages have grown well, and we ask for your active participation then as well.”
