Gyeongnam Leads in Fostering Social Enterprises! ... Selected as 'Best' Among 41 Local Governments Nationwide by Ministry of Employment and Labor
Three Village Enterprises Receive Prime Minister's Commendation and Certificate of Excellence
Gyeongnam Province received the top award in this year's evaluation of outstanding local governments for fostering social enterprises conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor selected outstanding local governments for fostering social enterprises in 2022 based on the 2021 performance nationwide.
Among 41 local governments, including 6 metropolitan cities/provinces and 35 cities/counties/districts, 13 local governments, including 3 metropolitan cities/provinces and 10 cities/counties/districts, passed the first screening.
Gyeongnam Province went through two rounds of evaluation divided into five areas: discovering and managing social enterprises, and job creation, ultimately earning the grand prize.
The province reported that it received high scores for establishing a public-private cooperation system based on the growth of social enterprises, activating networks, its own financial support projects such as climate crisis response and collaborative model discovery projects, as well as job creation and market support.
At the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s excellent and Moduae Village Enterprise performance sharing meeting held that day, the Goseong-gun Daraechon Agricultural Cooperative Corporation received the Prime Minister’s Commendation, and the Gimhae City Sodam Workshop Cooperative and Geochang-gun Yangji Village Agricultural Cooperative Corporation received certificates of excellent village enterprises, each receiving 70 million won in project funds.
