Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Foundation Holds the 25th Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Academic Award Ceremony

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Foundation announced on the 8th that it held the 25th Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Academic Awards ceremony on the 7th at BEXCO in Busan.
At this year's Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Academic Awards ceremony, Professor Jonghyun Park of the Department of Food Biotechnology at Gachon University was honored with the award. Professor Park was recognized for his contributions to the introduction of quantitative microbial standards in individual specifications of the Food Code for instant consumption and convenience foods such as baby food and raw/frozen meals, as well as for his research achievements on anaerobic microorganisms and food poisoning bacteria. His work has greatly contributed to the advancement of food science, academic promotion, and the development of cooperative technologies with numerous industries, thereby significantly advancing the food industry.
Professor Park has conducted research in the field of food microbiology on intestinal bacteria, probiotics, food poisoning bacteria, and bacteriophages. Over the past 15 years, he has produced a total of 81 academic journal papers, 9 patents, and 1 book. The Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Academic Award ceremony was attended by Ham Young-jun, Chairman of the Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Foundation, who presented the plaque and a prize of 30 million KRW.

Established in 1996, the Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Foundation has been carrying out various academic promotion projects and scholarship programs. Starting with scholarships for 14 students at 5 universities in May 1997, the foundation has provided scholarships totaling 7.5 billion KRW to over 1,100 university students up to last year. In 2009, the foundation established the 'Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Academic Award' and, through the Korean Society of Food Science and Technology and the Korean Society of Food and Nutrition, annually awards professors and researchers in food-related fields who have made significant contributions to the development of the food industry and the improvement of human dietary life. Up to last year, a total of 24 recipients have been honored.
