Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, Maker Space Practical Workforce Training
[Asia Economy (Bucheon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation is launching theoretical education, on-site training, and work experience opportunities for young people interested in manufacturing startups within the province.
On the 7th, the foundation announced on the 8th that it signed a business agreement for the 'Practical Workforce Training Course' with five Maker Space operating organizations in the province (Maker Space: an open space equipped with equipment and facilities for manufacturing and creation).
The Maker Space Practical Workforce Training Course is a project aimed at establishing a manufacturing startup foundation using Maker Spaces and discovering new job opportunities for youth.
The organizations that signed the agreement on this day are ▲ Seongnam Youth Foundation Bundang Jeongja Youth Center 'Ttukttak Lab' ▲ Kaywon University of Art and Design 'Maker Space PLAY' ▲ Clio Design 'Meca Lab,' operated in cooperation with Uiwang City ▲ Dohashiha Co., Ltd. 'Idea Workshop Dokkaebi' ▲ Siheung Industrial Promotion Agency 'Siheung Maker Space.'
The foundation explained that young people under the age of 39 residing in the province who wish to participate in the Maker Space Practical Workforce Training Course can apply online by visiting the 'Gyeonggi-do Job Project Integrated Application System' by the 15th.
The foundation will select 20 people through screening, and the trainees will participate in 3 to 4 weeks of theoretical education and on-site training followed by a 2-month work experience program.
Jo Eun-ju, Head of the Youth Job Division at the foundation, said, "This program was planned to reduce job mismatches by providing on-site training and work experience beyond theoretical vocational training," adding, "We expect that such efforts will reduce difficulties in job matching in the Maker Space sector in the future."
