Sejong University College of Business Administration Achieves AACSB Accreditation for the 4th Consecutive Time
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The College of Business Administration at Sejong University received accreditation from AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) for the fourth consecutive time on the 28th of last month. This fourth consecutive accreditation is the third among domestic universities, following Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and Korea University.
AACSB, established in 1916 to ensure and improve the quality of business education, is the world's largest business education network. It evaluates and accredits based on global educational standards that business schools must meet, assessing the quality of education and other factors. Currently, only about 950 business schools in 59 countries, representing less than 5% of business schools worldwide, have received this accreditation.
The AACSB evaluation criteria include strategic management and innovation, the capabilities of business school participants, quality of education, and academic and practical engagement activities of students and faculty.
The university formed an AACSB Accreditation Committee within the College of Business Administration to improve weak areas based on the evaluation by the on-site inspection team and has been establishing and implementing strategic plans for reaccreditation every five years.
Professor Lee Gyuseok, chair of the AACSB Accreditation Committee, stated, "We did not become complacent with three successful experiences and prepared thoroughly, which led to this good result. We were able to obtain reaccreditation thanks to all the professors in the College of Business Administration who sacrificed their personal research activities and cooperated with the university's initiatives, as well as the generous support from the university headquarters."
