The Nutrition Plus Project is a health management program that provides nutrition education and supplementary foods for a certain period to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and infants and young children who have nutritional risk factors (anemia, stunting, underweight), helping the smooth development and growth of mothers and children.
Eligibility includes infants and young children under 6 years old (66 months or younger) and pregnant or postpartum women residing in the jurisdiction. The income criteria are households with '80% or less of the median income standard' by household size, with health insurance premiums for a family of four being 144,572 KRW for workplace subscribers and 140,095 KRW for regional subscribers.
The participation period ranges from a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 1 year depending on health status.
Customized food packages (formula, rice, potatoes, eggs, milk, etc.) are delivered to homes 1 to 2 times a month, and periodic anemia tests, physical measurements, and nutrition intake surveys are conducted to provide personalized nutrition education and counseling.
Namwon City Health Center stated, "We will actively promote the selection of participants so that those who meet the eligibility criteria can participate in the project, and we plan to do our best to establish proper eating habits through systematic nutrition management for pregnant women and infants."
