Gyeongsan City won excellence awards in both the non-tax revenue and local tax arrears categories at the '2022 Non-Tax Revenue and Tax Arrears Best Practice Presentation Contest'.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongsan City announced on the 4th that it participated in the ‘2022 Outstanding Case Presentation Contest in the Field of Non-Tax Revenue and Delinquent Taxes’ held for cities and counties in the Gyeongbuk region, winning excellence awards in both the non-tax revenue and local tax delinquency fields.
Hosted by Gyeongbuk Province, this contest is an opportunity to discover effective cases of revenue increase and collection excellence across local taxes and non-tax revenue fields, and to share advanced collection techniques.
Officer Kwon Ji-min implemented the ‘Delinquent Tax Notification Text Service through the Electronic Deposit Seizure System’ to resolve local tax delinquencies caused by issues such as non-receipt of paper tax bills and lack of payment awareness, facilitating taxpayer convenience by sending text messages to delinquents with the delinquent amount and payment account information, thereby encouraging voluntary payment.
Team Leader Choi Gwi-eun introduced ‘Seizure of Pre-sale Rights’ as one of the means to secure tax claims for automobile-related fines, presenting effective delinquent disposition cases that sounded a warning against the moral hazard of delinquents who increase their assets while in arrears.
