KOTRA Supports 10 Renewable Energy and Green Technology Companies Entering Taiwan Market
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KOTRA will hold the 'Korea-Taiwan Green Partnering Plaza' from the 5th to the 15th of this month to support Korean companies with renewable energy and green technology entering the Taiwanese market.
On the 4th, KOTRA announced that at this event, 10 Korean companies possessing renewable energy and green technologies such as wind power equipment, hydrogen fuel cells, and solar power junction boxes will consult with about 20 leading Taiwanese companies in the renewable energy and smart grid sectors, including Datong and Cromax. Additionally, this consultation will be conducted simultaneously with buyers from mainland China through collaboration with KOTRA's China regional trade offices in Qingdao, Xi'an, Wuhan, and Tianjin, which focus on eco-friendly businesses.
According to the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), a government-funded research institute in Taiwan, Taiwan's renewable energy industry production in 2022 is expected to reach 209.5 billion New Taiwan Dollars (approximately 7.04 billion USD), a 5.7% increase compared to the previous year.

Kim Jun-gyu, head of KOTRA's Taipei Trade Center, stated, "Taiwan is fostering the green and renewable energy industries as six core strategic industries," and added, "As Taiwan plans to increase the share of renewable energy power generation from the current 8.5% to 20% by 2026, we will actively support Korean companies' entry into the Taiwanese market in line with this market expansion."
