Gochang-gun to Open Gushipo and Dongho Beaches from the 8th

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun announced on the 4th that it will open Gushipo and Dongho Beaches starting from the 8th.

The beach operation period is until the 16th of next month, and the usage hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

To ensure smooth beach operations, the county held two meetings since early this year with related organizations such as Buan Maritime Police Station, Gochang Fire Station, and the merchants' association to discuss beach improvement plans and safety accident prevention.

Also, ahead of the beach opening, with the phased recovery of daily life including the lifting of social distancing and relaxation of mask-wearing, the number of visitors is expected to increase, so they plan to put full effort into safety accident prevention and quarantine.

To this end, equipment inspections for safety accident prevention, such as safety observation towers and lifesaving boxes within the beach, were conducted.

Sixteen safety management personnel will be deployed at the beaches to prepare for various safety accidents, and temporary parking lots will be operated at each beach during the opening period to alleviate traffic congestion caused by the increase in visitors.

Gushipo Beach is known as a beautiful sunset spot because of its gentle slope that makes it easy to view the sunset, and it is located near a premium plaza with well-equipped convenience facilities, allowing visitors to enjoy a comfortable tourism experience.

Dongho Beach features a vast mudflat and a premium pine forest of thousand-year-old pine trees, and recently, nightscape lighting was installed within the premium pine forest, allowing visitors to enjoy a unique nighttime scenery.

A county official said, “This summer, with the phased recovery of daily life and expected prolonged heatwaves compared to previous years, many tourists are expected to visit during the opening period. We will strive to ensure that many tourists visiting the beaches in the Gochang area can enjoy a safe and comfortable beach experience.”
