Cheon Ha-ram: "If Lee Jun-seok leaves, it will revert to 'Liberty Korea Party', causing fatal consequences"
"Before Investigation Results Are Out, Difficult to Discipline Democratically Elected Party Leader Based on Insufficient Evidence"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On the 1st, Cheon Haram, a member of the People Power Party Innovation Committee, evaluated Lee Jun-seok, saying, "He would rather push for a stronger reform drive than stop now."
Cheon said in a CBS Radio interview that day, "Lee's style actually has a very strong competitive spirit that enjoys head-on battles."
Regarding the assessment that the entire pro-Yoon faction has turned away from Lee, he said, "That seems somewhat accurate," adding, "The negative reaction started when he brought out the card of nomination reform. Once they judged that he would pursue his own politics by pushing his reform drive, the pro-Yoon faction's response to Lee became colder, I interpret."
He continued, "Around December last year, Lee said that even if he were to step down as party leader or be unable to continue in politics in the future, he did not want to do anything he would regret," suggesting the possibility that he will not resign from the leadership position.
Regarding the disciplinary action scheduled by the Ethics Committee on the 7th, he also predicted that a severe punishment would be difficult. If Lee were to step down due to the disciplinary action, Cheon said, "In short, it would be going back to the Liberty Korea Party," adding, "There needs to be something clearly evident to anyone, but I am not sure whether the current Ethics Committee has secured or intends to secure that level of evidence."

He also opposed, saying, "Even before the investigation results come out while the investigation is still ongoing, disciplining a democratically elected party leader with insufficient evidence could lead to very serious consequences," adding, "If this happens, it will become very difficult for a leader without a strong faction, a kind of dark horse style leader, to emerge in the future."
