Coupang's Win-Win Promotion for SMEs in Chungbuk Region
Support for SME Banner Advertising Until September · Up to 20% Discount Sale
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang announced on the 1st that it will hold a win-win exhibition for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in collaboration with Chungcheongbuk-do and the Chungbuk Business Promotion Agency. This win-win exhibition, which will run until September 30, is designed to support the activation of online marketing for SMEs in the Chungcheongbuk-do region. Local SMEs participating in the exhibition will receive marketing support to increase sales, such as Coupang banner advertisements, and showcase their products at prices discounted by up to 20%.
Last year, Coupang signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chungcheongbuk-do, Cheongju City, and the Chungbuk Free Economic Zone Authority to build a large logistics center with a total investment of 400 billion KRW, continuing its cooperation with the Chungbuk region. The Cheongju logistics center, scheduled for completion in 2025, is expected to create more than 2,000 direct jobs.

The sales of companies participating in Coupang's ongoing support projects for local SMEs have grown by 69% in one year, providing opportunities to expand their sales channels nationwide. This figure is 15% higher than Coupang's overall growth rate of 54% in 2021. A Coupang official said, "We prepared this exhibition for local SMEs struggling to enter the online market," adding, "Coupang will continue close cooperation to provide new sales channel opportunities to SMEs nationwide, including Chungcheongbuk-do."
